My Short Stint in Los Angeles

Philippe with Ann and Fe
Arriving at the L.A. airport from Montreal, Fe was already waiting for us and she immediately drove us to the hotel where Philippe had to stay in bed because he was having pain at the back. He needed to take a rest before catching his flight back to Tahiti late in the evening. While Fe and myself left, had lunch in a Filipino restaurant and headed shopping at the outlets together with his brother in-law Dino. That was awesome.  Shopping is great in the U.S.

Me and the three sisters at a Karaoke bar in L.A.
In the evening, we brought Philippe in a restaurant and had dinner and then dropped him off at the airport and then.......vrooooooooooooooooooooommmm, next destination, karaoke bar!

Dino, the perfect singer!
Needless to say, we had so much fun! Dino is such a good entertainer and  he just sings beautifully. I just felt awkward but I did sing some few songs too. Good enough, there were not so many people around.

Todo bigay Sisters. Yes!!

I just learned that Ann and May, Fe two sisters don't really sing in public but they did this time with me.
What an honor!

Happy to see Beth and Malyn in Burbank
The next day, Fe drove me to Burbank to meet up with Ed and family and also a quick visit at Beth's house not far from Ed. Beth is a long time friend from Makati that I lost sight since I left the Philippines in 1985. But we keep in touch thru FB. I have also seen her sister Malyn, her husband, Ed, (Malyn's husband and their daughter. I also got chance to meet Beth's honey. I really regret that the meeting was so short. But I promised to go back and do some catching up next time. I loved the ice cream that Beth served us!! ha!ha!ha!

Ed, Merly and Joseph
I am also happy to see Ed, Merly and their son Joseph. They are looking so good and how Joseph has grown to be a good looking boy like his dad. When I was in L.A. the first time, it was Ed and Merly who hosted me. We had an excellent dinner and thanks to Ed for the special treat!

Lovely Dinner with Ed and family.
My two and half-days stop over in Los Angeles was very intense. Fe drove me everywhere. She even brought me to Chinatown where we did a little shopping. And to many other shops where I was able to buy my tennis racket, shoes and outfit. Bought some items for my family especially for my grand daughter. It's really interesting to do some shopping in the U.S. compared here in Tahiti. There are so many choices.

I am happy to see Fe's family. To meet her crazy sisters and her parents too.  Her mom, Auntie Theresa just cook so well. No wonder why the sisters always go to their parents' house. To eat and enjoy mommy's cooking! And one thing good, they never grow fatso!

It was nice to be able to trace our family relationship as we are related too.

I came home in Tahiti bringing many happy memories with everybody. And I am looking forward to be spending some time in September after my summer holiday in France. L.A., here I come...but we will be heading to Las Vegas this time. Everything is already planned for this sortie.

I can't wait to spend another good time with these crazy and happy go lucky Baltazar sisters!! Another blastful moment expected!

In the meantime, let me relax, prepare myself for the upcoming trip to France to welcome my apo and spend some time with my family this summer.

  1. My "ever" traveling little sister! I am so happy that you enjoyed your visit here in the States. Yes, California is beautiful and exciting and there is so much to see and do. It is a very large state with many nationalities making it their home. As you know, I have family there too! They live in San Diego. I have been to California many times and I love it out there. As far as "shopping", I still think that there is no place better to go shopping than in "New York City", but you will have to come back here again to see for yourself. I've not had the opportunity to visit Los Angeles, but I'm sure that I would have a good time! Thank you for sharing your "blog". It was fun to read about your trips!

In the meantime, I will be looking forward to having you in the south of France this summer.
